Managing director of Piaggio India, Diego Graffi, expressed to the Economic Times when reached for information about the company’s future plan in the country. He commented, “the company wouldn’t enter the EV market just for the sake of it. Instead, they will have a ‘powertrain’ based on their specifications”. Vespa Elettrica features
Vespa Elettrica sports company’s retro design with a mix of modern inclusion and technology. The e-scooter has curved body panels, full-LED light and heavy usage of chrome garnishing throughout the body. It has enough boot space to hold a helmet. Vespa Elettrica boasts a 4.2Wh of LG Chem battery pack that produces a maximum power of 4kW and a peak torque of 200Nm. The charging time of the battery is 4 hours which is the minimum recharge time with a 220 V power source. The top speed of the 40km/h variant in eco mode is 30km/h and in power mode is 45km/h. While the higher variant goes to a top speed of 45km/h in eco mode and 70km/h in power mode. The maximum range for both the models is 100km in eco mode while 80km in power mode for the younger variant and 70km for the elder version. It has a TFT digital dashboard to show driver information and battery details.
Vespa Elettrica expected price
It’s too early to guess the price of the upcoming Vespa Elettrica but the features should cost somewhere between Rs 90k to Rs 1 lakh in the country. It will also face strong competition to set its foothold against Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak.
