As per reports, the new super-cheap plan costs just $0.99 a month but runs ads in between to suffice its profits. This is still a value for many, and considering the growing competition, Spotify should introduce such plans to touch all community tiers.

Software businesses in special, are so leaned onto rich people to earn big sums in one go, so they price their offerings accordingly. But, as most markets are stuffing up with new players and growing competition, all are forced to touch the middle and lower-income groups too. This is the story of YouTube earlier and now Spotify’s. The music streaming company Spotify is seen testing a new subscription plan worth $0.99 a month, which runs ads in between while having all the premium features. A user reported this to The Verge, who also shared screenshots about the new plan. Soon after this, Spotify confirmed the news saying; Later, a Spotify spokesperson warned that testing might also be canceled, and the idea could be dropped if things didn’t work out. Well, we hope this comes out of testing to a stable version soon as significant budget classes are waiting for something like this. A plan that’s over 90% off than the current Premium ($10/month) plan is worth trying, even though it serves annoying ads.
