With this pathbreaking move, Disney+Hotstar has become the 1st Indian app to integrate Dolby Atmos audio technology. The platform has already gotten Dolby Vision support for some titles a few years ago and now Dolby Atmos has also been made available on TVs, AVRs, soundbars, Android, and iOS devices.
Dolby Atmos support how?
Disney+Hotstar has added Dolby Atmos audio support and the viewers will be able to take advantage of this multidimensional, spatial sound experience of Dolby Atmos on the app. The feature is available for all paid users regardless of the plan, so even if you have Rs. 149 plan, you can experience Dolby Atmos. Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology that allows up to 128 audio tracks and the associated spatial audio description metadata to be distributed for optimal, dynamic rendering to loudspeakers. This gives a theatre-like experience on your device. All you need to have is a Dolby Atmos-supported phone, TV, soundbar, etc. Since most of the mid-range devices come with Dolby Atmos support nowadays, so this should not be an issue. Disney+Hotstar: Plans in India
Currently, Disney+Hotstar is available in 3 different plans starting from Rs. 499 per year. The super plan costs Rs. 899 per year but this one shows content will ads. The premium plan is priced at Rs. 1499 per year. The premium plan shows ad-free content apart from live sports.
