Exclusive to iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models, this bug is triggered when the user is trying to restore data from their iCloud through the Quick Start process from their old iPhone. Apple acknowledged this issue and said it was working on this.
Bugs in iPhone 14 Pro Series
The iPhone 14 series launched earlier this month has been shipping with iOS 16 out-of-the-box. While the new features in it are exciting, the bugs it carries are frustrating. As per MacRumors, who obtained an internal memo from Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are having a bug – causing them to freeze while data transfers. Users of either of the iPhone 14 Pro handsets are affected by this, who try retrieving the data from iCloud or their older iPhone via the Quick Start process. While it’s irritating, Apple acknowledging this issue and working on this already is a good thing. In the internal memo that MacRumors obtained, Apple said it is “aware of this issue happening and is investigating.” While an official fix is in the pipeline, the company suggested that affected users force restart the device – if it becomes unresponsive for more than five minutes. iPhone 14 Pro series users are affected by a similar issue while device activation too, and encountered issues while connecting to an open Wi-Fi network in the process. Well, Apple said this wasn’t an issue and advised the repairers not to raise a flag for this. Instead, the company suggested users solve this by connecting to a Mac or to a PC with iTunes in the while onboarding process – when prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network – and then go back to try again on Wi-Fi. FaceTime and iMessage too have similar problems in the iPhone 14 series, which were all solved through the iOS 16.0.1 update, which Apple readied for users now. So people who bought the new iPhone 14 series are advised to update to the latest update for all fixes.
