Asus ROG Phone 6D Series Design
Asus ROG Phone 6 series arrives just a month ago. It is highly unlikely that Asus will even consider changing the designs of the upcoming 6D series as you can check out on its landing page too. The two 6D phones bring identical designs down to the camera bump at the back although the placement of the secondary screen on the standard 6D is at the center and works as RGB lighting whereas 6D Ultimate has it off-centered and is a secondary OLED display.
The available color variants that we can spot for now are Matte White and Metallic Grey although it remains to be seen if Asus introduces new colors or not.
Asus ROG Phone 6D Series Specifications
The Asus ROG Phone 6D Series comprises two models dubbed the Asus ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. Both will be powered by a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ fabbed on a 4nm process. Manufactured by TSMC, the chipset when compared to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is almost identical in every sense. For context, the latter processor was onboard ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro launched in July. Moving on, both phones have a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with an epic 165Hz refresh rate which is almost three-fold that of standard refresh rates. There’s a 720Hz touch sampling rate much like the OnePlus 10R and the display has got HDR10+ support and 111% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage onboard. There’s a secondary 2” OLED panel on the back as well. The primary screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that has an upper hand even when compared to CGG5 or 6.
Moving on, we have a triple rear camera setup arranged just the way the ROG Phone 6 series came with. It has a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor paired alongside a 13MP ultrawide and 5MP macro sensor onboard. You also get a 12MP Sony IMX663 snapper for the front-facing camera. Although the camera specs look amazing, it goes without saying that it is a gaming phone and thus, cameras are usually the second thing you can look for after performance and gaming capabilities. On the battery side, we have a 6,000mAh battery onboard both the devices paired with 65W charging tech via USB-C port. To make things even spicier, Asus ROG Phones usually have two USB-C ports so that you can charge your battery at a faster pace (not at twice the rate) or plug-in charging and USB-C headphones simultaneously. There’s support for reverse charging at 10W as well. On the connectivity side, we have an assortment of features ranging from NFC, Bluetooth v5.2, tri-band Wi-Fu 6e, dual-band GPS, and NavIC support, among others. You will also get a stereo speaker septum IPX4 water resistant, pressure-sensitive zones acting as triggers, and a few more things onboard.
